The idea for Hoedje came about as the founder was strolling with her newborn through the Fynbos fields of Stilbaai. There, under the rays of the African sun, she realised the need for ergonomic, yet beautifully designed sunhats. After two years of patterning, the mom-approved Hoedje hats were finally ready – intentionally designed from fabric to fit.

Each hat is carefully created with your baby or toddler in mind. The hats follow the natural curvatures and lines of their head for a comfortable fit. The side ties are also easily adjustable for less irritation under your little one’s chin, while SPF 50 protection keeps the sun’s rays off their face and neck.
